What To Expect – The Journey of Discovery

I look forward to working with you in the next few weeks as you learn about various franchises and how well they could help you in achieving your Income, Lifestyle, Wealth, and Equity goals.

I urge you to read the Your Career Revolution book that I’ve sent to you. It will give you tips on getting the most out of the Journey of Discovery.

After our Franchise Possibilities Call:

  • I will send you an email with the Discovery Center link in it.
  • This environment allows you to begin immediate education on the possibilities.

Connecting and Scheduling Time with Franchise Possibilities:

  • I will submit your name to the companies that I shared with you. Expect to hear from each of them over the next 24-48 hours.
  • Please respond with professional courtesy to each of them within a day of hearing from them. Then begin the process of setting up a call. They understand you may need a call over lunch hour, the early evening or maybe a Saturday.

Set Yourself Up for Education:

  • I’d encourage you to take good notes as you talk with each company.
  • Some of the things you may want to inquire about include:
    • Understand “A Day in the Life” – Ask as a New Franchisee – Ask as a Mature Franchisee
    • Understand their business model/revenue streams
    • How established is their management team?
    • Are other franchisees established in areas near you?
    • Any next calls or steps

Team Approach:

  • My advocacy is always focused on you! The Franchise Members and I all work together to create an educational experience of discovery. I may have calls with each of them to ensure you are getting the most out of the discovery and to get your questions answered.

Our Weekly Sessions:

  • We’ll always start with your Income, Lifestyle, Wealth & Equity Goals! This is the criteria for success and how you will decide if a possibility meets your unique requirements.
  • We will discuss each franchise possibility one at a time and what you found out.
  • We will address any emotional detours, fears, and discomfort you may have.
  • Strategize on a path forward including weekly action goals.
  • Please do not dismiss a possibility before we have an opportunity to discuss it.

Basic Steps in Discovery:

  • Follow each company’s step-by-step discovery process. Companies educate many candidates every year about their model. Each of them offers their own systematic way to learn about the key points of their opportunity.
  • They may use:
    • Conversations with both Franchisor, and later, Franchisees (Validation Calls)
    • Videos
    • Webinars
    • Conference calls
    • Various documents, including their Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)
    • Discovery Days
  • I encourage you to follow the lead of the franchisor representative.

Franchises Are Awarded:

  • Franchises are not sold. Remember, franchises are “awarded.”
  • Please keep in mind, not only are you assessing each opportunity, but their franchise development teams are also evaluating you. While you’re in business for yourself, you are shoulder-to-shoulder with the franchisor. They need you and you need them.
  • Franchisors enjoy meeting candidates who are curious, engaged, and who follow their discovery process.
  • Whether you go on to own a franchise with any company, it’s always helpful to create a great impression.

I have no doubt that you will learn quite a bit about business ownership, franchising, various business models, the role of the owner in those models, financial possibilities, the likely lifestyle associated with various options, and even a little bit about yourself!

The goal of this process is to gather data in an organized way, in a safe environment, to ultimately achieve clarity about whether franchise ownership in general, or any franchise model, is an appropriate vehicle to achieve your personal, financial, and professional goals.
